Jungle Cat Plant Shop sits on the corner of Leary Way, and is one of the most unique local businesses in Redmond. The store feels more like an expression of the owner’s creative vision, which makes each visit to Jungle Cat special.

The small space packs a big vibe, with every inch carefully curated by the owner, Laurie Bernitt. Laurie is assisted by the shop mascot, Tango, a Shiba Inu who can often be found in his personal corner of the store. The Jungle Cat website describes Tango as “Our resident jungle cat, our plant protector.”

Laurie seems to be aware of the addictive nature of adding plants to the home, with each customer getting a loyalty card that states, “IT’S NOT HOARDING, I’M STARTING A COLLECTION”. There are plenty of places to start with the huge variety of interesting plants, and even a Tango-approved Pet Friendly section. The walls feature a rotating collection of paintings by local artists that are also available for purchase.

Jungle Cat Plant Shop celebrated its second anniversary in Redmond in December 2023. It’s within walking distance of other Redmond classics, like Tipsy Cow Burger Bar, Spark Pizza, Woodblock, and Brick and Mortar Books, making it the perfect add-on to any day out in town.

Jungle Cat also hosts workshops, typically set at the center table of the store. Students can create their own plant-themed crafts, such as building their own terrariums or painting their own Monsteras.

Jungle Cat Plant Shop offers free delivery to the local Downtown Redmond area, as well as advice to plant owners looking for a little help. Customers can also browse the store’s collection online and opt for pickup.
